There’s Murder In The Air Tonight

Here’s a brand new song written and recorded on a combination of Italian red wine, a rather lousy digital camera and a BOSS MP3 recorder a late night in January 2009. It’s very rough around the edges! I had the idea that the lo-fi atmosphere brought on by the lacking quality of sound and picture quality lent itself nicely to the feeling of the song… but I’d better let others be the judge of that…

There’s Murder in the air tonight

There’s murder in the air tonight
your words have cracked open my soul
Seeping into the dark, out of sight
a slow trickle, I’m loosing control

There’s murder in the air tonight
If you haven’t got the heart to finish it
I’m sure my heart will

Reality is a beautiful idea
but I’ve never really been there
letting go af all my fears,
all is love, trust, faith, what do I care

There’s murder in the air tonight
you can’t take a life if its given away
and I gave in long ago

If I had a chance I’d do it all again
Like a blind dog following a scent he can’t let go
walking down the road towards my death again
perhaps death will be swift and sweet this time around

I’m standing with a foot in the past
and a foot in a dream that never can be
trying to run, run away, move out fast
let it fly, leave it all behind me

There’s murder in the air tonight
you can’t lose your soul if its already lost
and I lost long ago

There’s murder in the air tonight
you can’t take a life if its given away
and I gave in long ago
