Runemester

About

Læs den danske version

My name is Rune Clausen. I was born in the southernmost part of Denmark in the small town of Tønder in 1976. A substantial part of my childhood was spent under East African skies. My parents – both of them teachers – were emplyed as development workers a number of years in Tanzania and Kenya – and my sister and I naturally tagged along! This african intermezzo naturally affected my upbringing and childhood – mostly in a positive direction!

I hold a masters degree in history and cultural anthropology/ethnography from the University of Copenhagen. I am currently employed as a web- and exhibitions consultant at Esrum Abbey – 50 km to the North of Copenhagen.
My professional interests include aspects of colonial- and post-colonial history. Theoretically I am oriented around Microhistory, New Cultural History and structuralist- and post-structuralist approaches.
I am naturally interested in museum practice, i.e especially the way we balance aesthetics, learning and knowledge in our pratice. For a number of years I have had special interests in digital or IT related aspects of this area.

Apart from this I work as an independent consultant within the area of new media, web design and exhibition design. If you are interested to know more you are more than welcome to drop me a line.
